Japanese paper fabric has been created with the 1300 years of wisdom and the latest
patented technology, owing to the nature’s bounty. It keeps humidity at a comfortable
level, and it is cool on hot days and warm on cold days.
From yarn to fabric, this Japanese-born paper woven shiori is made free of additives,
and it is gentle on the skin and healthy for the body and mind.
It dries quickly, odor resistant and easy to care for.
note: Ultrafine polyester fiber is used as the core of the yarn to increase strength and
elongation. The polyester core is covered with washi paper, so that almost 100% of the
fibers touching the skin are washi paper.
We pursue color materials of natural origin and dye our fabrics using 100% naturally
derived materials from plants.
Fragrant colors of Man’yo that people in ancient times admired alter the shades of
fabric over time, bringing out their beauty and smoothness.
Please enjoy for years to come, the ever-changing textures that only nature can produce.
Washi paper -shiori- is made from conifers grown in inland Canada and its main
ingredient is scrap wood from lumber manufacturers, who practice strict forest
managements.
The conifers are grown for nearly 80 years in the cold region, and the yarns made
from ultra-thin (10g/㎡) washi paper are very strong and gentle to the skin.
We aim to create eco-friendly products, which do not waste the bounties of nature.
